Alta Strada (loosely translated for "The High Road") may have opened in 2007, but it feels like it's always been part of downtown Wellesley. Created and run by Michael Schlow, Alta Strada serves approachable, authentic Italian food, with friendly, knowledgeable service, in a casual but highly energized setting.
Schlow acknowledges he wanted to build a fun, simple restaurant that locals could call their own; a real neighborhood restaurant that guests could always count on for a great meal. Recognizing the need for quality take-out in the suburbs, Alta Strada also boasts a fantastic "old school" pizzeria and market where guests can take food home; and, since it's a real neighborhood "joint", the staff will even run the food out to your car when you call ahead!
