Welcome

Filled with excitement, I am happy to introduce the premier issue of Where to Eat Cape & Islands. Born of the requests of our loyal Boston readers and, of course, a selfish desire to spend more time eating on Cape Cod, the Vineyard and Nantucket, this book highlights the best restaurants in the area and answers the age-old question...Where to eat?

For our new readers, thank you for picking up this new issue. Inside you'll find 70 great restaurants profiled with menus, photos, overviews and the answers to any questions you might have. We've also included maps for those new to or visiting the area, dining scene overviews, a handy-cross-referencing section and a culinary glossary.

I'd like to extend my deepest gratitude to the restaurateurs and chefs who had the confidence in us to be part of this premiere issue. Also, a special thanks to Jane Hill, who you've probably seen buzzing around in our little Where to Eat car, braving the driving rains and blustery snowstorms of the past year. Jane sought out just the right mix of restaurants and tracked down restaurateurs all over the country at their off-season retreats. And, as always, thanks to the entire Where to Eat staff for their hard work, support and excitement during this frenzied time.

After a long winter we look forward to spending time at the beaches and in the towns of the Cape & Islands. With the day's heat still in your cheeks, what's better than a sundown cocktail and a meal of the freshest seafood, meats, herbs and vegetables the area has to offer?

So whether you're looking for a casual meal on the waterfront, a cozy fireside inn, a special occasion or a business event location...Look no further, for you are holding the answer...Where to Eat.

Bon Appetit!
