Chef de cuisine Carolyn Johnson takes over the kitchen at Rialto on Sunday nights, offering a regionally themed three-course menu this November. Johnson gets her inspiration from the cuisine of Emilia-Romagna – courses include options like antipasti of mortadella, culatello, parmesan and figs; or chestnut, bacon and bean soup; zampone sausage with lentils and lambrusco sauce; or tagliatelle with prosciutto, mushrooms and parmesan. For dessert, there’s almond and pear pudding cake.

After a summer hiatus, chef Jim Solomon resumes his popular Fireside Chat series at The Fireplace in Brookline’s Washington Square. The mother-daughter team of Longteine, also know as "Nyep" and Nadsa de Monteiro are responsible for the cuisine of The Elephant Walk. Each of them teaches cooking classes throughout the year - Nadsa at The Elephant Walk in Boston and Nyep at her home in Jamaica Plain. Gerard Lopez, Chef at The Elephant Walk in Cambridge, is a native of Beziers in the Languedoc-Roussillon region of southern France. Gerard generally teaches French cuisine but occasionally teaches a Spanish class as well.

Tomasso Trattoria & Entoteca
Tomasso will be accepting reservations for Holiday Parties including New Year's Eve Dinner. Taj Boston’s new Executive Chef Franck Steigerwald has created new menus reflecting classic favorites and appealing surprises throughout the hotel. The fresh New England flavors are accented by subtle blendings of Italian and French influences. Chef Jay Murray will be serving a Thanksgiving Tasting Menu this year at Grill 23 & Bar. Courses will include smoked Maine shrimp chowder with avocado, chayote and coriander; and organic alderwood roasted Vermont turkey with gingered carrot confit and all the fixings. Pastry chef Molly Hanson contributes a pumpkin cheesecake with a spiced cider reduction and cashew brittle. This four-course menu can be paired with wines hand picked by sommelier Alex DeWinter.

Pierre Ferrand Cognac Dinner
Mark your calendar for their Pierre Ferrand Cognac Dinner in the Soiree Dining Room at Upstairs on the Square. Guillaume Lamy of Pierre Ferrand and Bar Manager Augusto Lino will host an autumnal dinner paired with cognacs from this grand dame of cognac distilleries. The cognacs (some dating back to the beginning of the 20th century) will be served with their favorite late fall fare, best savored by the light of the Jewel Box fireplace. What could be better than a snifter of some very well- aged cognac paired with Chef Steve Brand’s authentic fondue.
