Chef Dante de Magistris has invited some of Boston’s premier chefs to battle it out at this outdoor, meatball cook-off this Sunday, November 9th at 2pm. The event will take place on the patio of Dante and will establish who’s got the best balls in the city. Guests delight in the meat creations, and chefs can mingle with their peers and show off their innovative culinary skills. The chef who creates the winning dish will receive a grand prize and the title of Best Balls of em All.

Tresca Wine Dinner
Tresca is hosting a fabulous 1997 wine dinner on Wednesday November 12th. The dinner kicks off with a Prosecco Reception followed by a first course of Fresh borlotti bean and pancetta broth paired with a 1997 Ruffino Riserva Ducale Chianti Classico. The night continues on with a Second course of Vialone Nano risotto tossed with fresh porcini mushrooms accompanied by 1997 Barolo Aldo Conterno. Third course is the kicker offering guests Traditional Tuscan style charbroiled T-bone steak with a 1997 Campaccio “Super Tuscan” Terrabianca. Round things off with a Citrus Crème Brulee and 1997 Vin Santo.

Pierre Ferrand Cognac Tasting at Tomasso Trattoria
Pierre Ferrand Cognac Tasting at Tomasso Trattoria takes place Wednesday, November 12th at 7PM in Tomasso's Private Dining Room. Guillame Lamy from Pierre Ferrand will lead a tasting of vintage cognac, some 45 years old. Chef Justin will create some great French treats to pair with the cognac. Cinque Terre's Annual Italian White Truffle Weekend takes place this November 14-16th. Upon his travels, Chef Lee Skawinski, found some of Italy's best truffles, and you can enjoy his hard work right here in Portland. In addition to the truffles the weekend features the introduction of new wines from the Piedmont area.

Eat Your Heart Out Boston
The first annual Eat Your Heart Out Boston event takes the stage November 16th at Church. In an effort to meld the cutting edge worlds of food and rock and roll, the event will be a showcase for both, offering a two-hour dine-around featuring 8 of Boston’s most notable young chefs followed by a few hours of indie rock from local, up-and-coming musicians. Not only will the food and music share a space, but they’ll also share a common goal: to support Boston-based non-profit, The Food Project, which teaches inner-city youth how to grow and cultivate their own food. The chefs and bands will spend the evening mixing things up with the chefs creating dishes inspired by the bands and later, jumping on stage to return the favor. The night promises to be full of food, good tunes, and plenty of laughs – all for a fantastic cause. Flavors of Fall to Benefit CitySprouts
Top chefs from Cambridge and Somerville will gather at The Charles Hotel on November 17 to serve selections from their autumn menus, all in support of CitySprouts, whose gardens at many Cambridge public schools inspire teachers, students, and families with a deep, hands-on connection to the food cycle, sustainable agriculture, and the natural environment. This is the fifth year that the area’s premier online dining guide, BostonChefs.com, has organized the Flavors of Fall fundraiser. Past participates included; The Blue Room, Chez Henri, dante, Harvest, Henrietta’s Table, Rialto and Upstairs on the Square will dish up delicious treats, both savory and sweet. And this year, Hungry Mother and Garden at the Cellar will join the epicurean ensemble. Drinks will be poured by Jacob’s Creek Winery, Brooklyn Brewery, Noir, J.P. Licks, and San Pellegrino.
